Each remaining candidate gets a finding that raises it and a finding that argues against it. Candidates with no sinking feature usually mean the case was not examined for them, which is worth knowing before you commit to an order.

Proportion check: if the ranked list is longer than the comparison, the paper is describing candidates rather than choosing between them, and the choosing is what the week exists to grade.
Citing the features that do the discriminating
The claims in this week's writing are comparative, so the sources have to be comparative too. A study that describes how often a feature appears in one condition cannot tell you how well it separates that condition from another; only work that measured both groups can support a separation claim. Say which kind of study you are holding.
Population before number, every time. The frequency of a discriminating feature shifts with age band, setting and how the sample was assembled, and a figure from a hospital series should be labeled as such when your patient is sitting in a primary care room. Give the denominator and the interval: 47 of 260 adults over six months is checkable, a bare percentage is not.
Verbs decide claims here more than anywhere else in the course. Was more common among is what most comparative observational work supports. Five mistakes that cost points in a ranking week
- An alphabetical or arbitrary list. Order with no stated basis hands the decision back to the grader, who scores it as indecision.
- Candidates that share no features. A list of unrelated conditions cannot be compared, so the comparison section collapses into three separate summaries.
- The dangerous condition dropped because it is unlikely. Consequence and probability are different axes, and a paper that collapses them loses the safety row.
- Defense by restatement. Explaining again why the leader fits, instead of explaining why the runner-up does not, answers half the argument.
- No exit condition. A paper that ends still weighing everything reads as unresolved rather than as thorough.
